Ok this is only big issue what I've found so far. Having client(s) minized to task bar and seeing then to eat constantly 25-30% cpu/each is not what I was looking for. Old client took pretty much zero when minimized.
I really would wish solution to this. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |

Update1: Even with station enviroment disabled client uses 8-20% cpu while minimized in station. Really unacceptable -> optimize please.
Update2: If I open map while station enviroment is disabled and then minimize, processor usage remains in 5-10% which starts to be acceptable already.
Update3: Oh yes forgot to mention that wont plex my second account before cpu issues have been solved... as running 2 will fry my computer in long term. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |

Lord... it is not good for anyones computer if it has constant load on processors when it is on... Start running some funny software what keeps your cpu busy (like http://www.distributed.net) and lets see how long your caps last. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |

Originally by: Billy Danacreon \facepalm Of course it takes more load when minimized, its not even the same engine. The client is not paused even when minimized otherwise you would lose the connection each time you tab. PC gamers are such drama queens these days.
No offence but it should be pretty much idle while minimized. Keeping the connection up and stuff moving back and forth doesn't take ****loads of cpu. You have installed irc client to your computer someday? How much cpu it takes while it is minimized? Does it disconnect when you minimize it? ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |

A component should be able to run 100% 24/7 for the lifetime of it's warranty, or longer if you ensure to provide adequate cooling and cleaning. If you are not you are not taking your responsibility to maintain a system.

Originally by: Lork Niffle No it should not. An IRC client is different to a game, can you not see this? I do not know of any IRC clients that use 3D rendering to run.
It is the fault of the DirectX/hardware how minimising a 3D application takes up cycles of your GPU/CPU. Applications do not enter a paused state all the time when minimised, often only render updates are paused, the application still takes cycles but often in a lower priority state.
IRC clients also use nothing when not minimised.
If your hardware cannot run at 20% constantly I would call/email your hardware provider for a refund, clean your computer, provide better airflow.
My hardware can run at 100% constantly but I don't want it to. That is my choise. My choise is also not to play this game if I don't want to and as far as I see it, while minimized, clients should not be renderin anything, specially with the main dualcore processor. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |
